Gallery Net - small screen navigation

 

This project explores the challenges of navigating hierarchal information on a small screen. Working in a team of two, we designed an interface for a cell phone that allows users to navigate content for art galleries.

We went through several iterations and produced the following deliverables:

• persona - description of Scott, our user with an informational need in a mobile context
• navigation map - hierarchal view of our system
• wire frames - Illustrator sketches of individual screens
• interactive flash demo - takes viewers through Scott's scenario
• presentation - Power Point presentation of our process

Widget Redesign

In this project I selected a car air control widget to redesign. I proposed a double slider as the new design, which more appropriately maps to the car's air flow and the number of choices that the user is actually making in his selection.

I created a poster detailing the problem, solution, instructions for interacting with the new widget, and a short list of similar widgets.
